What is success?
Is it driving a certain car? Buying a luxurious house? Is it a dollar amount that you can earn that officially makes you successful?
What about toys? Oh, you know what I mean. Gold watches, red bottom shoes, multi-thousand dollar purses and dresses, yachts, jets, and all the other toys that only “successful” people can afford.
Do those things make you successful?
What if I’m a millionaire but my marriage is in the toilet? Am I successful?
What if I have a car for every day of the week, and a house with a garage big enough to put them in, but I am constantly worried about someone damaging my cars or breaking into my house? Is that success?
What is the driving force of your life? Everyone wants to be successful. But what does success mean to you? Let me leave you with two truths:
1. The richest man in the world is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least. “Beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” (Luke 12:15 NKJV)
2. Happiness is the highest form of success.
“When God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. (Ecclesiastes 5:19 NIV)
