MAN UP MONDAY
“TEAM JESUS”
It’s not just a “church”, it’s a team.
Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Did you know that when you got saved you joined “Team Jesus”?
Well, you did. And just like any other team, we have opponents and our primary purpose is to score.
I. Who are we?
We are the “Ekklesia” (Church). It literally means, “Called out ones.”
(So the building is technically NOT the church)
Our purpose is to help each other fulfill God’s calling on our lives. To be a team of leaders helping leaders.
Get this in your spirit:
You are a minister.
II. Who are our opponents? Satan and his hosts.
Ephesians 6:11-12 says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
III. How do you score? How do we win?
In four ways:
A. Identification- Identify the people that God has placed in your life to minister to.
- People that you have influence with. (People who Like you, hang around you, feel close to you)
- People that seek your counsel and/or follow it.
B. Interaction- Intentionally interact with those people with the intent of seeing you and them grow closer to the image of Christ in some area of their lives.
C. Documentation-Document results and progress. Keep a journal or a log of the people that God brings in your life and pray for them even after they have left your life.
D. Reflection- be accountable to yourself and your team to seek out ways that you could be more effective.
It’s time for you to get off the bench and get in the game.
Tell somebody about Jesus. Invite them to your church or offer to study the word with them yourself. If you need study material, email me.
Let’s win souls for the Kingdom of God!
