MAN UP MONDAY:
“Are you succeeding or surviving?”
Life comes at you fast. And life comes at you HARD. Every day that you wake up in your right mind is indeed a blessing. Every time that the battle doesn’t destroy you is something to be happy about. But sometimes we lose something in the battle. We kept our lives but we lost our joy. We won the battle but we lost just a little bit of our faith. Voices slowly creep into our heads and tell us that this is as good as it gets.
So we begin to lower our expectations down to the level of our reality. We begin to question our standards, argue with our dreams and suffocate in the atmosphere of self-doubt.
Maybe I’m not good enough. Maybe good stuff only happens to other people.
Maybe I should just be happy that I’m making it. There are so many people who have less. Maybe a roof over my head is enough.
Maybe I don’t have to like my job. A stressful job is better than no job.
Maybe I should rejoice that I actually made it home and I have 8 hours before I have to face that job again…
Maybe I should be happy that I’m just surviving…
One question: Does that sound like abundant life?
