MAN UP MONDAY:

(The realest thing I’ve ever written)

I make a lot of posts about relationships and some people agree and others can’t stand them. But the truth is that there is a lot of anger, bitterness and mistrust going on between the sexes. Dating has become more like a battle than a genuine interaction between interested parties.

Men are guarded against women and women are guarded against men.

Men are blaming women for the demise of relationships and women are blaming men for not understanding or meeting their needs.

Men are cheating women are fussing. Women are cheating and men are fussing.

The divorce rate is reaching unprecedented numbers and the church is no different than the world in those statistics.

Godly women are turning to secular “experts” to answer questions that the Bible clearly addresses.

It’s time for Christians to take back marriage and the family. Having said that, here are a few things that the bible says about marriage, family and dating.

1. The (saved) husband is the head of the house. Ephesians 5:23
2. Marriage is FOREVER!!!!!!!! Divorce was never a part of God’s original plan. And God HATES divorce. Mathew 19:6, Malachi2:16
3. Marriage is only defined as a man and a woman. Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31
4. Under no circumstances should sex take place before marriage. 1 Corinthians 6:18, 2 Timothy 2:22
5. A woman doesn’t find a husband. A man find’s a wife. Proverbs 18:22. And the man only “finds” her because God presented her to him. Genesis 2:22

A lot of people refer to this as sexist or misogynistic. They dismiss it as patriarchal and unequal. But the bible is clear that we should not conform to the standards of this world.

It doesn’t matter what “society” says, the Word of God does not change.

We must line back up with the Word of God and it starts with the Man.
